Join in an exploration of spiritual friendships, a discipline of our faith. We practice our faith regularly and seek to equip the community faith for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ. You are invited this week to pray about your hope for renewing relations, based on Ephesians 4:25-32, from The Message paraphrase).
Dear God, I would love you to make my life entirely new. I would love to live “a God-fashioned life.” Please come and renew me from the inside out – out into conduct following Jesus’ example: truthful, gentle and forgiving. Help me God to nurture relationships with a few people where we tell the truth with no pretense. Help me God to nurture relations where I can name all my emotions, even anger and sadness. Help me God to nurture relationships where I can give and receive feedback and be held to account on my values: faith, hope and love. Help to say only what helps, each word a gift. Help me to listen to hear, not to respond. Come Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in me. Be the most intimate part of your life and help me to be gentle with others, sensitive. Help me forgive others as quickly and thoroughly as you forgive me through Christ, Amen
