October 1-18, 2026 Prayers in a time of decision making

October 1st to 18th, our sanctuary will be open from 6:30 to 8:30 in the evenings.

Candles will be lit. Every 15 minutes a prayer will be read, a short prayer for serenity using Francis of Assisi and Teresa of Avila.  Otherwise, silence will allow us to pray.

Alberta is a very anxious place to live in this time of referendum. When considering what to offer a community in anxiety, St. David’s Council has chosen to share our sacred space and our trust in God.

It will be open for all and silent. It will be a place for us to come and put down our anxieties:  personal, provincial, and otherwise.

It will be a place to breathe in God's serenity and faith in community.

I invite you to bring people who need a silent, safe place.

While we as Christians disagree on many things, we have a freedom of serenity and trust that no matter what's happening in our world, we are still being held in God's love. And that is a gift we can give people no matter how they vote.
