NURTURING LOVE

Mother’s Day; Christian Family Sunday

We offer multiple options this week. We plan to do a live stream hymn sing at 10:30 on Sunday morning, so join in and chat on-line.

The order below is for the recorded service posted on YouTube and FaceBook. In addition, I have created a YouTube Playlist (see the link at the bottom of this post), so if you are watching on YouTube, stay on line after the service ends, and you should see three more videos.

If you aren’t watching on YouTube, go check out our new channel. On the home page of our website (https://www.stdavidsleduc.com/), look in the upper right hand corner. Beside the “Search” and “Contact” buttons, you should see two small icons. Clicking on the “F” will take you to our FaceBook page, and clicking on the one which looks like a “play” button will take you to our YouTube channel.

You can also click on the links below whenever you are ready.

PRAYERS: for the Life, Work and Mission of the Church

As we gather our prayers, I need to mention the news report about Wednesday’s incident on Highway 2 at the Leduc overpass. We have heard that there are 3 shooting victims, including a police officer and one fatality. We offer our prayers for everyone affected by this event.

LORD’S PRAYER

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.

HYMN NO. 186 VU: “Now the Green Blade Rises” (J. Crum; One License No. A722095)

Now the green blade rises from the buried grain,
Wheat that in dark earth many days has lain;
Love lives again, that with the dead has been:
Love is come again, like wheat arising green.

In the grave they laid him, love by hatred slain,
Thinking that he would never wake again,
Laid in the earth like grain that sleeps unseen;
Love is come again, like wheat arising green.

Forth he came at Easter, like the risen grain,
He that for three days in the grave had lain;
Raised from the dead, my living Lord is seen;
Love is come again, like wheat arising green.

When our hearts are wintry, grieving, or in pain,
Your touch can call us back to life again,
Fields of our hearts that dead and bare have been;
Love is come again, like wheat arising green.
