CHILDREN’S ANTHEM Alleluia!

Call to Worship (verses from Matthew 28)
After the sabbath, as the first day of the week was dawning,
Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb.
And suddenly there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord, descending from heaven, came and rolled back the stone and sat on it.
His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow.
But the angel said to the women,
‘Do not be afraid; I know that you are looking for Jesus who was crucified.
He is not here; for he has been raised, as he said.
Come, see the place where he lay.
Then go quickly and tell his disciples,
“He has been raised from the dead, and indeed Jesus is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see him.”
So they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy, and began to run to tell his disciples.
Suddenly Jesus met them and said,
‘Greetings!’
And they came to him, took hold of his feet, and worshipped him.
Then Jesus said to them,
‘Do not be afraid; go and tell my followers I am alive!  Go to Galilee; there they will see me.’

CHILDREN’S ANTHEM Credo!

Opening Hymn: VU # 155 Jesus Christ Is Risen Today

Adult Anthem: Early in the Morning on Easter Day

Reading from Scripture:
John 20: 11-21
We respond:
In ages past, disciples, prophets, priests and historians wrote down their faith.
This is a faithful witness of our ancestors.
Word of God for us today.
Thanks be to God.

CHILDREN’S ANTHEM Jesus Loves Me

Congregation sings verse 3 together!
Jesus loves me still today, walking with me on my way, wanting as a friend to give light and love to all who live.  Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me.
The Bible tells me so.

God is here among us.

We open them to God and to one another.
Elder: Let us give thanks to God.
It is right to give our thanks and praise.
CHILD: Why do we give thanks and praise at this table?
Elder: We give thanks because God is always with us.

Therefore with all the saints of every time and place,
we join the angels in their praise:
