Evangelism is the telling of the story of God’s actions in the world to reconcile and to heal its brokenness, i.e. the story of the reign of God through the community of Israel, through the life, supremely through death and resurrection of Jesus and through the church. The chief evangelist is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit gathers a community of faith together to witness to the work of God in word and in deed. The community of faith invites people who are living by scripts that distort or destroy human life and human community to switch stories.
