WOMEN'S GROUPS

St. David’s has several opportunities for women to get together for social, service and spiritual activities:

Afternoon United Church Women's Group (also known as “Unit 1”)

Usually, meets in the church on first Thursdays at 2:00pm at the church, from September to June.

Evening UCW Group (also known as “Unit 4”)

Usually, meets on first Wednesdays at 7:00pm (locations varies), from September to June.

Family Friendship

Usually, meets on first Thursdays at 9:00am (at the church), from September to June. This group is open to all, but is especially open to mothers will young children.  The kids are most welcome.

Women's Breakfasts

About four times per year women are invited to come together for breakfast and a time to enjoy each others company.  Often, a formal program or guest speaker will be part of that time.

The next women's breakfast will be in the new year.

MEN'S CLUB

Men of the church get together for breakfast once a month. The focus is on fellowship and service and nurturing the spirituality of men in the church.

Usually, the Men's Club meets at Smittys (in Shades’ Pub) at 8:00pm on the first Saturday of each month (second Saturday, if the first is a long weekend). The Men give $13 to the Club treasurer and then order what they like from the menu.

All men in the church are welcome to come to gatherings of the Men’s Club.

YOUTH GROUP

St. David's boasts an active youth group for those in grades 7 through 12. They get together every two weeks (often on Friday evenings).

Youth Group is a place for the youth to come as they are; a place to learn, grown and be cared for by each other and with the love of God. Youth Group strives to be a community of belonging through which the youth can explore and affirm who they are as gifted people of God, while actively living out their Christian Faith in all of God's creation.

CHOIRS (for more info, contact the church office)

St. David's currently has three active choirs which people are invited to join for their own spiritual enrichment and to offer praise to God through song.

JUNIOR CHOIR - for children in grades 2 through 8. This group meets Tuesays at 4:00pm. It is an excellent choir with excellent leadership where children learn good singing fundamentals and have a good time doing it. They sing in the church several times throughout the year (mainly around Christmas, Easter and Mother's Day)

SUNDAY CHOIR (aka "sanctuary choir", "senior choir") - for singers of all ages (but it's mostly made up of adults). This group meets Thursdays at 7:30pm and sings most Sundays during the church service. They have a lot of fun and are a good place to learn how to sing in a choir. One doesn't have to have much experience, just a desire to sing.

MEMORIAL CHOIR - This group of singers doesn't rehearse. They don't have any pieces of music prepared. But, when called upon, they help with the song leadership during funeral services held in the church. People agree to be on a phoning list and if they are available to come when needed, they do. Whether 3 or 30 singers join the choir on a particualr day, it is always appreciated!

OTHER - St. David's also currently has a Women's Ensemble (Partners in Time) that rehearse Tuesday mornings and a Men's Quartet that practice on Thursday afternoons.
