MUSIC LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITY

St. David's United Church is a progressive Christian Community in Leduc, Alberta whose mission is 'to welcome all to participate in its nurturing Christian community and to inspire its people to serve others as Christ taught.' People are encouraged to come as they are and be nurtured and inspired on Sunday mornings at 10:30am.  The worship life of the church is enhanced by music.  St. David's regularly used the "Voices United" and "More Voices" hymnbooks.  After ten good years, St. David’s United Church in Leduc organist is retiring from that position at the end of the year.

The church is excited to invite applications for an organist/pianist position to begin Jan. 2012. This role includes playing on Sunday mornings and accompanying the sanctuary choir at its rehearsals on Thursday evenings.  As well, this person is invited to play for funerals and weddings as needed.  The church is open to having  more than one person sharing the position.  Interested persons may contact Mary at 780-986-9708 or Gladys at 780- 986-1171.

Posted Saturday, April 24, 2010 - On June 10th, 2010, The United Church of Canada will be 85 years old. In 1925, the Methodist Church in Canada, the Congregationalist Church of Canada and two-thirds of the Presbyterian Church of Canada formally joined together to become The United Church of Canada. The rest is history (still being written). In celebration of this momentous occasion, each United Church congregation has been “paired”. People from the churches are encouraged to be in touch with each other. The hope is that people will be talking about their churches and getting to know each other.
